Reporting to senior leadership, this role will oversee daily operations while driving operational excellence, team performance, and long-term growth. The General Manager will play a critical role in aligning production, people, and processes to support business objectives and improve operational performance. This position combines strategic leadership with a hands-on approach within a dynamic manufacturing environment.The Role
- Provide overall leadership for manufacturing operations, ensuring performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives
- Oversee production planning, workflow coordination, and operational resources to ensure efficiency and consistent delivery to customers
- Lead and develop department managers and supervisors while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Champion operational excellence initiatives, including the implementation of lean manufacturing practices and process improvements
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track performance, identify improvement opportunities, and drive accountability
- Partner with leadership in sales, finance, and administration to align operational capacity with business growth plans
- Oversee workplace safety programs and ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Lead change initiatives across the organization while promoting clear communication and team engagement
- Contribute to capital planning, equipment investments, and operational technology improvements
- Support strategic initiatives that improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability across the business
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within a manufacturing or industrial operations environment
- Demonstrated success leading multi-department manufacturing operations or plant-level leadership roles
- Strong background in operational leadership, continuous improvement, and performance management
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams while building a culture of ownership and accountability
- Experience implementing operational metrics, performance dashboards, and process improvement initiatives
- Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to balance operational priorities with broader business goals
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments
- Post-secondary education in engineering, operations management, business, or a related field is considered an asset
- Experience within manufacturing sectors such as building materials, industrial products, or other process-driven environments is advantageous
- Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence training is considered an asset
