Software solutions customized for field services, landscaping, pest and lawn, remodeling and roofing help these businesses with everything from scheduling and tracking jobs, to quoting, invoicing and payments processing, to customer relationship, review and reputation management.Position Summary:The General Manager, Joist is the senior business owner accountable for the performance, strategy, and execution of the Joist product within the EverPro Invoicing portfolio.Reporting to the Head of Portfolio, this role operates as the accountable business leader for Joist, owning commitments and outcomes across revenue, retention, monetization, and profitability.This role does not directly manage Product, Engineering, or Marketing. Instead, it leads through influence, clear prioritization, and disciplined decision-making within a shared portfolio operating model that includes:A centralized Growth functionA portfolio-level Director of Planning & InsightsShared Product and Engineering leadershipThe General Manager, Joist owns business outcomes. Growth owns experimentation. Planning & Insights owns commitment discipline.Key Responsibilities:Business Ownership and AccountabilityOwn Joist revenue, retention, engagement, and profitability outcomesAccept or reject business commitments within the portfolio planning cadenceTranslate growth insights into credible, deliverable business commitmentsTake accountability for performance variance and corrective actionStrategy & PrioritizationDefine and evolve the Joist business strategySet clear priorities and sequencing across initiativesMake explicit trade-offs when capacity is constrainedAlign investments with portfolio-level objectivesCross-Functional LeadershipAlign Product, Engineering, Marketing, Growth, and Support around business prioritiesNegotiate capacity and timelines at peer level with functional leadersAct as the final business decision-maker for Joist trade-offsEnsure execution maps directly to committed business objectivesPartnership with Growth and PaymentsPartner with the Head of SaaS Growth to evaluate and adopt scalable growth initiativesCollaborate with the Payments Business Owner to align monetization strategyRepresent Joist priorities within horizontal initiativesOperating Within the Portfolio SystemPartner with the Director of Planning & Insights to set credible commitmentsParticipate in weekly commitment reviews and monthly business reviewsSurface risks early and make clear recommit / decommit decisionsContribute to quarterly OKRs and semi-annual strategic planningQualifications:10+ years in SaaS leadership roles with accountability for business-level outcomesExperience owning revenue, retention, or P&L resultsDemonstrated ability to negotiate cross-functional capacity without direct authorityExperience operating within structured planning and performance cadencesStrong commercial judgment and trade-off disciplineComfort making decisions under uncertaintyExcellent executive communication skillsBonus: Experience in PLG SaaS or SMB SaaS environmentsBonus: Experience operating within a portfolio or matrixed structurePersonal Characteristics:Smart and curious.Clear decision-maker who accepts accountabilityComfortable making explicit trade-offsStructured thinker who values planning disciplineInfluential but not politicalHigh ownership mentalityCalm under ambiguity and varianceCompensation:

With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based anywhere in Canada or the United States – if you’re close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely.
