We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee accounting, finance, and compliance operations for an organization in the St Catharines area. This role involves financial leadership, reporting in both CAD and USD, and managing a small accounting team. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background combined with approachable, people-focused leadership skills.Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial planning, reporting, and compliance (CAD and USD)
- Oversee day-to-day accounting, payroll, and inter-company transactions
- Provide operational oversight and ensure compliance with Canadian accounting and tax laws
- Develop and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative environment
- Support executive leadership with financial insights and business strategy
- CPA designation (or equivalent) with 7-10 years of accounting/finance experience
- Proficiency in Sage 300, ADP, and advanced Excel
- Experience in payroll, inter-company transactions, and financial leadership
- Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, plus experience with USD reporting
- Background in distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environments preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills: approachable, compassionate, and team-oriented
