Shifts: Dedicated 8 hour shifts across weekdays. Dedicated extended shifts across days, evenings, nights and weekends. Rotating on-call shifts during stat holidays, or as needed (Casual Shifts: Must be available for all shifts. Join Medical Imaging at UHN, one of the largest academic medical imaging department in Canada! Our cutting-edge digital technology and dedicated team prioritize patient care and exceptional image quality.At UHN we work to develop new MRI protocols and procedures for cardiac, breast, neuro, abdominal and pelvic, oncological and musculoskeletal (MSK) areas. Through protocol development, we can assist in quicker diagnosis and treatments for our patients.MRI recently introduced Artificial Intelligence (AI) as part of the MRI clinical workflows across the complete fleet of 7 scanners, as a first department.We help train new technologists from various institutional programs across Canada. We provide students the opportunity to use new technology and learn from our highly experienced and knowledgeable MRI technologists.In addition to our advanced MR imaging at UHN, MRI Technologists are actively involved in clinical procedures which were firsts at UHN: MR Elastrography (MRE) to assess the liver and MR guided focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS) to target brain tissue for treatment of movement disorders.Be part of our journey to shape the future of medical imaging through innovation, ground breaking research, education, and excellence in patient care. - Work as part of the dynamic team to perform MRI procedures in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards and departmental procedures
- Provide exceptional care to patients, families and caregivers while adhering to Medical Imaging department and UHN policies and best practices
- Effectively communicate with inter-professional and multi-disciplinary teams
- Work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast paced, high patient volume setting
- Participate in professional development, teaching and educational activities, and mentoring, as required
- Fulfill on-call requirements/obligations, as required
- Coordinate daily work schedule, prioritizes emergency/add-on cases, as required
- CMRITO registration
- CAMRT certification with current membership, preferred
- Completion of Cross-sectional anatomy and Contrast Injection courses
- Completion of clinical component of relevant accredited medical imaging academic program, or equivalent education assessed by CAMRT and CMRITO
- Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification
- Related technologist experience in a hospital environment, an asset
- Effective time management skills and ability to organize and prioritize work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Demonstrated initiative and comfort with decision making including an ability to respond to changing and emergent situations
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated good judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team
