
Technologist Assistant - MRI

- Greeting patients and ensuring positive patient identification and exam/procedure confirmation.
- Calling to communicate procedure prep to patients when needed and notify technologists of daily exam schedule.
- Reviewing patient history and blood work from HIS or other systems, rectifying any missing or incorrect information where possible and report any concerns to the technologist and/or radiologist.
- Assist in data entry and documentation of patient exam/procedural information.
- MR/CT patient screening and safety screen (incl. need of pre-MRI x-rays/orbits and report to technologist).
- Confirming creatine levels pre-exam and reporting to technologist. Review list day prior to ensure optimal efficiency day of.
- Assist in reviewing patient history (i.e. prior MRI, surgical history).
- Uploading all documentation in Coral RIS system.
- assisting the technologist in positioning the patient for scans.
- Assisting in patient transfer to and from imaging table.
- Confirming information on patient screening forms, obtaining patient history, and providing patient history to the technologist.
- Adding and removing technical scanning equipment such as MRI coils and CT table accessories as required.
- Review of images for post processing confirmation when necessary.
- Confirming image review and successful transition to the PACS system.
- Preparing contrast injector as appropriate and confirming with the technologist.
- Ensuring the room has linen supplies, patient lines, injector syringes, contrast, and other required medical supplies.
- Prepping and cleaning scan rooms, renewing and organizing supplies, restocking linen, scanning documents.
- Manage inventory and logistics of supplies including ordering, tracking and stocking.
- Cleaning Medical Imaging equipment with caution and according to vendor guidelines.
- MRI safety trained to understand and support MRI safety guidelines and safety zones; Level 1.
- Highschool Diploma is required.
- Two years of progressively responsible and related experience required.
- Relevant medical imaging experience including exposure to medical imaging workflow and information systems.
- Proficient computer experience and excellent keyboarding skills is preferred.
- Current experience in a hospital environment preferred.
- High degree of professionalism and initiative, with the ability to function independently in a position with limited immediate supervision.
- Sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in fast paced, high volume environment.

- Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities while demonstrating excellent customer service skills
