These products enable fiber optic data rates of up to 1,600 Gbps and are used by many of the largest telecommunications companies in the world including Verizon, AT&T, and Bell Canada to enable the Internet as we know it today.Design Process: simulation, functional schematic, physical PCB layout reviews, documentation, and working with contract manufacturing teamsLab Hands-on: hardware debug, electrical design verification vs. datasheet specsComponent Qualification: spec reviews and research to qualify alternate sources due to shortages or to enable cost reductionsYield Data Analysis: review large-scale manufacturing data to assess design or test changes to improve factory yieldHardware Root Cause Analysis: conducting and reporting on failure analysis to other internal and external teams as requiredThe Must Haves:Completed BEng/BASc Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)Demonstrated proficiency with hardware Design process: schematic, PCB layout, design documentationFoundational knowledge of lab equipment: Multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering.Assets:Excellence in verbal and written technical communicationExperience with Cadence Allegro toolsetExperience with scripting languages (i.e Python, Tcl) and string parsing (i.e. RegEx)Background with statistical analysis techniques (histogram distributions, StDev, CpK)Pay RangeThe annual pay range for this position is $62,600 - $100,000Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
