Join us.YOUR IMPACTAs a Principal Data Architect, you will serve as a strategic leader and hands-on expert responsible for designing and evolving OpenText’s enterprise data architecture. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our data ecosystem is scalable, secure, and optimized for advanced analytics, AI, and business intelligence. Working closely with senior leaders, data teams, and IT, you will guide the development of modern data solutions that align with organizational goals and drive business performance.WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS
  • Designing end-to-end enterprise data architectures that support analytics, reporting, and operational efficiency across a complex technology landscape.
  • Leading data platform modernization efforts, including cloud migration, data lake architecture, and integration of emerging technologies including data science and AI.
  • Responsible for creating roadmaps, and architectural artifacts and patterns which are aligned with the overall enterprise architectural direction.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Driving the adoption of best practices in data modeling, metadata management, data lineage, and quality assurance.
  • Providing architectural oversight and strategic direction on large-scale data initiatives, including data integration and warehousing.
  • Partnering with cybersecurity and compliance teams to ensure data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance across all solutions.
  • Mentoring technical teams, promoting knowledge sharing, and cultivating architectural excellence across the organization.
  • Monitoring and optimizing system performance to ensure alignment with evolving business requirements and service-level objectives.
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation for data architectures, models, and operational processes to support transparency and knowledge sharing.
  • Evaluating new tools, platforms, and methodologies to continuously evolve and future-proof our data ecosystem.
  • Producing architectural artifacts, reference models, and roadmaps that guide technology and business stakeholders in implementing scalable data solutions.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field; equivalent work experience considered. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • 15+ years of experience in IT and business/industry roles, including enterprise data architecture, systems lifecycle management, infrastructure planning, and operations.
  • Proven success designing and executing enterprise-level data strategies and deploying scalable architecture across diverse technology environments.
  • Expertise in data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and resiliency.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate business needs into architectural solutions.
  • A continuous learning mindset and passion for emerging trends in data architecture, AI, and digital transformation.
