The Application Engineer is responsible for providing product applications assistance to prospective municipal and industrial clients as well as channel partners and sales reps across several industrial sectors including: dairy, oil and gas, chemical, pulp and paper, and food & beverage.Your responsibilities
  • Communicate with existing and potential clients to understand their specific processes to identify client challenges and needs while focusing on driving value.
  • Complete data analysis and data models on client specific projects to build correlations and extract valuable insights.
  • Communicate findings, insights and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through reports and visual data models.
  • Travel to industrial client sites for the purpose of gathering field application information and to assess client specific needs.
  • Create client dashboards and monitor client sites on a day-to-day basis to ensure systems are operational.
  • Drive a culture that is highly responsive to clients, providing accurate, comprehensive and timely information.
  • Provide comprehensive technical and after sale support to channel partners and industrial end users as needed.
  • Will work closely with sales team to develop and present customized solutions proposals to various clients for their application needs.
  • Interpret client specific drawings and understand client processes.
  • Collaborate with sales team on pricing and lead time negotiations for customized solutions.
  • Provide marketing team with application specific content, aiding in the production of case studies and white papers, and willing to present results / studies at events.
  • Work closely with engineering team to determine solution feature requirements and identify system improvements and new features needed for various industrial client applications.
  • On occasion, travel to customer sites to install, commission, and configure sensors and controllers according to specifications and project requirements.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working on-site, ensuring the safety of yourself, colleagues, and customers.
Your background
  • Engineering degree (Chemical, Civil or Environmental preferred).
  • 2-3 years of experience working in the water/wastewater industry.
  • 2-3 years of experience developing applications and driving value proposition focus.
  • Extensive knowledge of water quality parameters such as BOD, COD and TSS
  • Experience using water quality monitoring instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of the basic principles of spectrophotometry.
  • Attention to detail, highly organized and effective time management skills.
  • Possess a results-oriented, proactive work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with multiple priorities and projects under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills a must.
  • Entrepreneurial, driven, willingness to learn, problem-solver and professional.
  • Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Advanced level of ability to use Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to travel in Canada and out of the country.
