Closing Date: September 19, 2025The Rehabilitative Care Alliance was established in 2013 by Ontario's 14 LHINs. The RCA works with partners across the province to strengthen and standardize rehabilitative care in Ontario through better planning, improved performance management and evaluation, and increased integration of best practices across the care continuum. The RCA reports to a provincial steering committee and is supported by a small secretariat that works collaboratively with clinical and administrative stakeholders from across the province to lead a variety of provincial initiatives.The Rehab Care Alliance is a provincial project management secretariat that is hosted by UHN and funded by Ontario Health (OH). Committed to the integration of rehabilitation throughout the continuum of care, we work collaboratively with provincial task groups to lead initiatives that advance best practices, inform quality improvement and enhance system efficiencies.Our approach is highly collaborative. We engage a variety of partners, clinical experts and the OH regions to:
  • Develop and implement standardized, evidence-based best practices
  • Support the implementation of provincial guidelines and standards
  • Advance and support data analysis and reporting for rehab system planning
  • Improve processes to reduce fragmentation within the system
  • Identify and address emerging sector and system-level issues related to rehabilitative care.
Summary:In collaboration with relevant task groups and secretariat staff, the Project Manager will be responsible for coordination and implementation of system-wide initiatives, ensuring projects progress within set timeframes to achieve stated deliverables. In collaboration with secretariat staff and provincial partners, the Project Manager will be expected to take initiative to lead each project and participate in strategic discussions regarding project directions relative to health system priorities.The Project Manager will among other duties:
  • Provide operational project leadership to various committees of the Network that address clinical and system-wide issues relating to rehabilitation across the continuum.
  • Develop and oversee project work plans in collaboration with secretariat staff and chairs
  • Analyze data reported directly to the Network and/or obtained through provincial data holdings (i.e., data from NRS / CCRS) in support of system evaluation, capacity planning and quality improvement.
  • Conduct literature reviews, design and analyze surveys and other data, develop presentations, conduct inventories, plan and facilitate member engagement.
  • Develop an understanding of rehabilitation services, resources and issues across Ontario.
  • Develop in-depth understanding of Ministry and Ontario Health priorities and directions as they relate to rehabilitation services, resources and issues to inform work plans.
  • Participate in development of operating plans. Help to identify and support initiatives of interest to partners in alignment with provincial goals and the RCA's strategic objectives.
  • Develop collaborative and supportive working relationships and engage with provincial and regional partners to initiate and support a variety of system-wide projects.
  • Perform other duties as required to support achievement of secretariat deliverables
Specific areas of focus for this role include but are not limited to:
  • Compile, analyze and summarize annual performance data to support publication of the 25/26 RCA System Evaluation Report
  • Present provincial data findings to regional rehabilitative care committees to help guide review and identification of opportunities for quality improvement
  • Action recommendations to update the RCA System Evaluation Framework and Dashboard
  • Update RCA compendium, summarizing rehabilitative care best practices to accompany the RCA Capacity Planning Framework
  • Working with regional rehabilitative care committees and OH regions to guide application of the RCA capacity planning framework to suit regional needs
  • Develop and analyze a rehab nursing education survey, leading a provincial task group to scope and implement next steps
  • Finalizing a rehab workforce briefing note, leading discussions with a provincial task group to identify next steps
  • Analyze bundled care data based on findings from an Applied Health Research Question and present to task group to inform next steps.
Qualifications
  • Proven Project Management Experience
  • Master's Degree - with a preferred focus on Health/Public/Business Administration
  • Clinical Background in Rehabilitation Field
  • Familiarity with Publicly-Funded Healthcare Settings
  • Strong Skills in Critical Thinking and Data Analysis
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and with teams, taking initiative to lead initiatives in consultation with secretariat and task group chairs, and engage with task group members
  • Excellent Communication and Report Writing Skills
  • Computer literate in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point
  • Familiarity with provincially reported performance metrics, indicators, CIHI data holdings for rehabilitative care services, and current MOH and OH priorities
