Steps away from the main public transit stationWhat we offer:Highly competitive compensation package which includes base salary, bonus, benefits, and career advancement opportunities!*Eligibility for benefits is dependent on the terms of employmentThe Opportunity:The Bilingual Insurance Representative is a role where you’ll play a key role in supporting the Residential Insurance Team by providing a combination of essential administrative assistance as well as insurance claims management. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including managing incoming inquiries, organizing documentation (reviewing, updating and cancelling borrower insurance statuses), assisting with the team with special projects and crucially being a front line representative of the company and protecting the mortgagee interest while dealing with contractors, insurance adjusters and borrowers during repairs and rebuilds to their home. You will work closely with team members to maintain accurate records, contribute to departmental goals and ensure that all relevant insurance documents are properly administered, tracked and accounted for.This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop foundational skills in the insurance and mortgage industry while contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the team. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once are essential for success in this position.How you will contribute:
  • Process and update insurance policies and cancellations related to mortgaged properties and ensure all insurance records are accurately updated.
  • Review and monitor insurance coverage for mortgaged properties to ensure adequate coverage as per company policy.
  • Respond to borrowers, and insurance brokers in a timely manner to their inquiries regarding property insurance and provide assistance with insurance related documentation.
  • Monitor insurance claims affecting mortgaged properties, coordinate with borrowers, insurance adjusters, contractors and other third-party vendors to ensure repairs are completed in accordance with insurance and lender requirements.
  • Obtain and review documentation from contractors and clients confirming completion of repairs to the properties.
  • Arranging payment of insurance proceeds to applicable parties.
  • Conduct on-site inspections, to verify that repairs related to insurance claims has been completed and that the property condition complies with lender requirements.
  • Perform title searches and review property records to ensure no construction liens are present.
  • Oversee loans that are placed on forced placed insurance and administer insurance documents provided as correct and accurate to process applicable refunds for accounting approval.
  • Assist with administrative and operational projects assigned by management to support the Residential Insurance department.
The Requirements Needed:
  • Post secondary education and/or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Strong communication abilities to engage in email and telephone interactions with borrowers and third parties
  • Time management skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Confidence and assertiveness to deal with subject matter experts in the insurance industry (brokers, agents, lawyers etc.)
  • Adaptability and flexibility to deal with changing policy landscape
Working Environment and Physical Demands Analysis:
  • Office environment with hybrid potential

  • Prolonged periods of repetitive movement (i.e. using a keyboard and mouse)
