We have an exciting opportunity for a Working Foreman – Valve & Actuator Repair to join our team, based out of Mount Uniacke, NS.This individual will lead hands-on industrial valve and actuator service work while providing daily direction, mentorship, and technical support to technicians. This role combines advanced mechanical expertise with safety oversight, customer site work, and on-the-spot decision-making to ensure high-quality, compliant operations. For the right individual, relocation support from within Canada may be considered.Responsibilities:
  • Service, test, adjust, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, remove, install, and inspect safety and relief valves
  • Maintenance, repair, commissioning of actuators, and measurement of valve stems for drive bushing machining to ensure correct fitment and reliable operation.
  • Travel to customer sites as required
  • Perform valve shop work, including sandblasting, cleaning, and receiving products
  • Act as a working lead, providing day-to-day direction and support to technicians
  • Mentor, coach, and support technicians through hands-on guidance and knowledge sharing
  • Ensure all work meets company procedures, safety standards, and customer requirements
  • Participate in factory training and certification (provided for successful candidates)
  • Work overtime and travel to client locations on short notice when required
  • Other tasks as required
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a Senior Valve Technician, Lead Hand, or Foreman role within an industrial valve maintenance setting
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in a wide range of industrial valves, actuators, switches, seals, plugs, etc
  • Must be able to obtain Controlled Goods and ISED Security Clearance as a condition of employment
  • Working knowledge of naval, mill, refinery, wastewater, and/or industrial environments
  • Sound judgement and comfortable making on-the-spot decisions to resolve technical or safety concerns
  • Strong communication skills with technicians, customers, and management
  • Solid understanding of industrial safety practices and procedures
  • Ability to maintain accountability while promoting a positive, team-focused work environment
  • Experience with measurement devices and test gauges is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Able to assume responsibility and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous
