Pay Rate: $35 per hour (range will be depending on experience)Job Summary:
The role of Machinist involves operating metalworking, and milling, machines designed for repetitive machining work, to cut and form metal into component parts or products.Key Responsibilities:
- Operates and maintains equipment and milling machines
- Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production
- Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping
- In depth knowledge of the properties of metal and other materials
- Selects appropriate machines and settings for a given task
- Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment
- Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary
- Maintains inventory of completed products
- Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects
- Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs
- Maintains a safe and clean workstation
- High school diploma required; apprenticeship or vocational training preferred
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and manuals
- Proficient in math
- Ability to use standard hand and machining tools.
- Strong focus on tasks assigned and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to follow instructions
- Problem-solving skills
- Able to communicate in English, verbal and written
- Professional work ethic, flexible, detail oriented
- Ability to work with a team and independently
- Strong knowledge of safety and quality procedures
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job
