- Assist in the management and coordination of highway and roadway design projects, ensuring compliance with MTO specifications and standards.
- Support the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and estimates for highway and transportation infrastructure projects.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Assist in project scheduling, cost control, and liaison with the client during contract administration.
- Participate in client meetings and stakeholder coordination, ensuring effective communication between all parties.
- Support project risk management, quality assurance, and compliance with MTO and industry regulations.
- Provide technical input for preliminary and detail design phases.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and proposals for project pursuits.
- Develop an understanding of business development and proposal processes to support growth opportunities.
- Help track project progress, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
- Coordinate with internal and external teams to support efficient project execution.
- Assist in budget management, invoicing, and financial reporting for assigned projects.
- Gain exposure to AECOM's project management certification process to develop leadership skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in transportation engineering, highway design, or related infrastructure projects.
- Ideally 6+ years of experience in MTO highway/roadway projects, including preliminary and detail design for transportation projects.
- Strong understanding of MTO standards, TAC guidelines, and transportation engineering principles.
- Proficiency in design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Knowledge of project scheduling and management tools, such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience in client coordination, report preparation, and proposal development is an asset.
- Eligible for Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensing in Ontario or already licensed.
- Prior experience with business development and proposal writing is a plus.
