Remote Flexibility: Hybrid Remote FlexibilityOur client, a respected Toronto law firm, is seeking an experienced Accounting & Trust Clerk to join their team. Reporting to the COO, this role provides essential support in payroll, benefits, treasury, and trust accounting, with a strong focus on compliance and accuracy.Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll, reconciliations, and year-end filings (T4s)
- Administer employee benefits, including onboarding and terminations
- Handle wire transfers, client credit card payments, and related ledger entries
- Manage day-to-day trust accounting transactions in compliance with LSO requirements
- Complete monthly trust reconciliations
- Provide backup support for AP/AR processing, bank reconciliations, and subledger reconciliations
- Assist with accounts receivable and WIP management
- 3+ years’ experience in accounting, ideally within a professional services or law firm environment
- CPA/CGA designation an asset
- Hands-on experience with payroll processing and compliance
- Strong knowledge of law firm trust accounting and PC Law;
- Excellent organizational skills, detail orientation, and ability to prioritize under pressure
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team-oriented and proactive
