- Create monthly branch and departmental financial statements
- Reconcile GL accounts and prepare month end journal entries with supporting documentation
- Reconcile bank accounts and balancing transactions on a daily and weekly basis
- Work with different divisions for intercompany processing and reconciliation
- Explain accounting reports and processes to internal stakeholders, partnering with operations to resolve any outstanding accounting issues
- Provide operational level analysis on monthly financials and trends and highlight the areas for improvement
- Identify and analyze monthly budget variances and provide explanations to the Divisional Controller
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of the annual budget
- Possess a strong understanding of internal controls, their purpose and design
- Implement and monitor accounting procedures and policies at both an operational and corporate level
- Prepare year end working papers for auditors and provide explanations as needed
- Answer queries from internal stakeholders about monthly financial information
- Provide peer review of team members’ work as needed
- Assist in continuous process improvement and ad-hoc projects
- Comfortable working in a deadline driven environment
- High attention to detail and accuracy, in a high-volume environment
- Desire to learn and work collaboratively with team members
- Strong communication skills dealing with financial and non-financial audiences
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with drive for continuous improvement
- Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize competing deadlines
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required, enrolled in CPA program preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in an accounting role
- Intermediate level of Microsoft Office proficiency
- Dealership and/or Industry experience is considered an asset
- Comfortable working in a deadline driven environment
