Description :Toromont Material Handling is looking for a skilled Forklift Technician specializing in electric forklifts to join our team. In a typical day, YOU will:
  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting and repairs on electric forklifts, including:
  • Battery systems
  • Electric motors
  • Control modules and onboard electronics
  • Hydraulic and mechanical components
  • Use OEM diagnostic software and tools to identify faults.
  • Complete maintenance services to manufacturer standards.
  • Prepare accurate service reports and documentation.
  • Communicate clearly with customers and the service team.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with Toromont policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient service environment.
Must-haves for this role:
  • Valid Provincial Technician License (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience working with electric forklifts or similar equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems (24V, 36V, 48V and 80V).
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot complex problems.
  • Experience with battery technologies (lead-acid, AGM, lithium-ion) is an asset.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
  • A valid driver’s license (for field service roles).
