As a Junior Process Equipment Technician - 12 month contract, you will take charge of fabricating and maintaining vital equipment, ensuring everything runs smoothly in our facility. Your work will include setting up and testing equipment, producing detailed sketches, and supporting the engineering team with prototype design and troubleshooting. You’ll be actively involved in inspections, maintenance, and the development of innovative mechanical solutions that keep our operations at the forefront of the industry. On-site in Kanata, OntarioYour Day to Day as a Junior Process Equipment Technician
- Fabricates equipment components, prototypes and devices with minimum supervision.
- Asssist with the sets up equipment for testing in accordance with prescribed specifications, documents experimental work and reports findings
- Operates and maintains in good working condition the equipment and machine tools of the shop.
- May contribute to working sketches or designs for components, devices or test fixtures as required
- Performs other related production process equipment and shipping package maintenance duties as appropriate
- Assists with the development and testing of mechanical equipment used in facilities for new processes and for development work.
- Supports drafting of written documentation such as procedures and preventive maintenance records
- Provides technical support to the engineering and design group (mainly activities relating to original prototype design and troubleshooting)
- Qualification and/or certification as a machinist plus 3-4 years of related experience after a recognized training program.
- Demonstrated high level of skill and efficiency as a machinist.
- Familiarity with welder, pipefitter, or industrial mechanic trades is desirable.
- Computer literacy desired.
- Ability to wear a respirator for potentially several hours at a time.
- Ability to lift 10 kgs frequently and push/pull items with a force up to 25 kgs occasionally.
