- Support the Group Benefits team in the acquisition of new complex business; participate in finalist presentations, as required
- Act as a subject matter expert on Saskatchewan Blue Cross products with our external partners and internal departments
- Manage new implementations of complex market groups to successfully install new business, including facilitating install meetings
- Review special requests and help promote/sell products and services based on client needs
- Build and maintain successful and lasting relationships with existing customers in the complex market that contribute to continuing client satisfaction by meeting regularly with plan administrators, company executives and advisors and ensuring accounts are operating in accordance with client expectations
- Understand the intricacies and complexities of each benefits plan and provide on-going support to group Plan Administrators, advisors/consultant questions by actively finding solutions to issues
- Manage policy revision requests for the complex market ensuring that information is complete and outstanding requirements are obtained in a timely manner to meet deadlines and meet effective dates of plan changes, including those dealing with Collective Bargaining Agreements
- Facilitate regular meetings with our Plan Administrators, Plan Advisors and internal teams that drive value for our partnerships
- Prepare and interpret client reports for review such as service reports
- Respond to benefit plan inquiries and resolve advanced inquiries from Plan Sponsors, Plan Advisors/Consultants, and internal department contacts while meeting agreed upon turn-around times
- Develop and conduct employee presentations for client groups to explain benefit lines, eligibility requirements and claims processing procedures
- Develop and provide demonstrations and training to plan administrators on various topics including the web portal applications for plan advisors, plan administrators and members.
- Educate new and existing clients on administrative procedures, interpret and explain plans and coverage
- Provide expertise on Saskatchewan Blue Cross’ digital experience for clients and advisors
- Provide reporting to help group benefits clients understand their overall plan health and identify areas of opportunity for education/engagement
- When new products are launched in Group Benefits, take the lead, together with the Account Executive, to learn, present and speak to these new services
- Maintain security/privacy compliance in ensuring that all contacts are kept to date, and that client information is released to parties (advisors, plan administrators), only on an as needed basis
- Identify and recommend process improvements with the goal to improve customer experience and provide consistency across all departments
- Remain abreast of product and industry changes that may impact the area
- Monitor group policies (Insured, ASO, HSA, TSA) for opportunities for enhancements to coverages across all lines of business (Life, Disability, Health and Dental, HSA, TSA)
- Develop and maintain quality training documents to ensure efficient and effective transfer of knowledge Identify and recommend process improvements
- Represent SBC on departmental committees and at trade show events
- Completion of a Post-Secondary Diploma or Certificate. A combination of training and experience will be considered
- 5+ years prior experience in customer facing Group Benefits service roles with demonstrated experience working with increasingly complex group benefits clients
- Secure and maintain the Life and Accident & Sickness license, in good standing, through the Insurance Councils of Saskatchewan within the first 6 months of employment and meet the on-going licensee minimum required continuing education requirements
- Current GBA designation or working towards the designation would be considered an asset
- Group Product knowledge is essential including a knowledge of underwriting concepts
- Proven ability to determine business priorities, meet goals, handle high volumes of work
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Superior customer service and relationship management skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to conduct presentations
- Independent, self-motivated individual with ability to run multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously

- Knowledge and understanding of growth and retention strategies
- Excellent planning and project management skills with the ability to complete projects within tight timeframes
- The ability to be flexible and adaptable to change
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Must be willing to travel and work flexible hours
- Legally entitled to work in Canada on an unrestricted basis
- Criminal Record and background check satisfactory to Saskatchewan Blue Cross
