Description :Saskatchewan Blue Cross®, one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers, is currently recruiting for a full-time permanent Product Specialist to join our team in the Product & Partnerships department. This position offers the flexibility to be in-office or participate in hybrid options in our Saskatoon or Regina office.JOB FUNCTIONReporting directly to the Manager, Product & Partnerships, the Product Specialist is a hands-on product leader responsible for the development, enhancement, and performance of Saskatchewan Blue Cross’s product portfolio, including group benefits, personal health, life and living benefits, and travel insurance. This role supports product lifecycle management through market and performance analysis, execution of product enhancements, and partnership initiatives. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own the execution of assigned components of the product roadmap, from concept through delivery and optimization
  • Manage assigned product portfolios across the full lifecycle, including evaluation, enhancement, and performance optimization
  • Lead, coordinate and manage product initiatives, coordinating cross-functionally and making day-to-day decisions to ensure successful execution, and timely delivery
  • Proactively identify opportunities and risks, while developing insights and recommendations based on adoption, utilization, competitive analyses, and stakeholder feedback
  • Maintain product policy language, ensuring regulatory compliance while supporting speed-to-market
  • Analyze and translate product performance data to identify trends, gaps, and recommendations for improvement
  • Drive go-to-market readiness for new and enhanced product offerings
  • Continuously scan the market for emerging trends, best practices, and competitive threats to inform pricing, positioning, and product strategy decisions
  • Apply customer and market insights to improve relevance, value, and simplicity of offerings to support growth in existing and new market segments
  • Communicate insights clearly and transparently and translate findings into actionable recommendations for leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Manage assigned partner relationships with a focus on performance, value delivery, and continuous improvement, ensuring alignment with service level and contractual obligations
  • Collaborate with partners to deliver product enhancements and identify opportunities for value creation, while holding partners accountable to agreed-upon service standards and outcomes
  • Act as a product subject-matter expert, enabling Sales, Marketing, Underwriting, Compliance, Member Experience, and other teams to successfully support product execution and issue resolution
  • Contribute to KPI definition, development and accountable target setting related to sales, adoption, member satisfaction, and retention
  • Proactively communicate decisions, progress, risks, and outcomes
  • Resolve complex product issues, escalating when risks are elevated or alignment is required
  • Champion product outcomes and vision ensuring stakeholders are informed and aligned
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Economics, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in product management, product development, insurance, or a related analytical role with evidence of leading people
  • Sales and/or marketing experience is considered an asset, particularly in understanding market needs, supporting go-to-market execution, and strengthening product positioning
  • Self-motivation with strong business acumen, demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, make sound product decisions, and deliver results independently, while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical capability with experience in market analysis, customer segmentation, performance reporting, or pricing support, including the ability to combine data, judgment, and business context to make timely decisions
  • Proficiency with reporting tools, analytics platforms, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing reports and presenting findings
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Curiosity-driven mindset with a bias to action and continuous improvement, creating innovation, problem-solving, and creativity
  • Demonstrated experience managing vendor or partner relationships
  • Working knowledge of health benefits, life and living benefits, or travel insurance
  • Critical thinking and structured problem solving
  • Ability to translate insights into clear, actionable product recommendations
  • High ownership mentality; delivers with minimal direction; can deliver multiple priorities at the same time
  • Strong project coordination skills including prioritization, and execution
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication
  • Willingness and ability to travel within and outside of Saskatchewan
  • Flexibility to work outside of core business hours
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada on an unrestricted basis
  • Criminal Record and background check satisfactory to Saskatchewan Blue Cross
