8901 - Corp Office West Crk - 12800 Tuckahoe Creek Parkway, Richmond, Virginia, 23238CarMax, the way your career should be!About this jobThe Sr Safety Analyst is responsible for maintaining and evolving CarMax’s injury reporting processes, overseeing injury data quality, and analyzing data to drive injury prevention. They support data processes and reporting across the EH&S function and also administer EH&S technology solutions.What you will do – Essential Responsibilities
  • Own CarMax’s internal and external injury reporting processes including but not limited to:
  • Oversee the injury reporting system/functionality in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Proactively identify and champion improvements to safety systems and processes, influencing others to adopt best practices.
  • Monitor injury reports for completeness, accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure proper follow-up for serious injuries.
  • Build collaborative relationships with field users, offering guidance and support that fosters shared ownership of safety outcomes.
  • Ensure companywide compliance with annual OSHA log posting requirements.
  • Complete annual injury reporting to OSHA and DOL.
  • Support CarMax’s injury prevention program
  • Conduct root cause analysis of injury data, evaluating trends and risk areas to inform strategic safety decisions.
  • Support root cause analysis and data-driven decision-making.
  • Deliver clear and engaging reports and dashboards tailored to stakeholder needs, ensuring effective communication of safety insights.
  • Support the development of injury prevention resources and training.
  • Support CarMax’s safety compliance program
  • Support safety compliance initiatives and respond to regulatory inquiries.
  • Respond promptly and constructively to safety concerns, seeking win-win solutions that prioritize associate well-being.
  • Plan and execute annual training updates with accuracy, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with safety program objectives.
  • Mentor peers and leaders on injury reporting processes and data analysis techniques, contributing to team development and knowledge sharing.
  • Support other EH&S technology, system and data initiatives
  • Develop reports and dashboards to support internal and external EH&S partners.
  • Manage data processes and data quality for other EH&S programs.
Purpose of the roleThis role plays an integral part of CarMax’s safety program. They will be responsible for ensuring all injuries are being recorded accurately and analyzing injury data to drive injury prevention efforts.Qualifications and Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Ability to work independently to complete tasks in a timely manner while balancing time, multiple priorities, and interruptions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience using data to drive results.
  • Experience working with case management systems a plus.
  • Previous experience in safety or related field a plus.
Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the CarMax Home Office in Richmond, VA and have a Hybrid work arrangementWork Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
