
Journeyman Electrician

- Perform all duties safely, display safety leadership, cultivate a zero-incident safety culture, and comply with all government and corporate safety requirements.
- Maintain all electrical equipment, PLC/HMI, power distribution, and related services within areas of expertise.
- Safely operate plant equipment including forklift, aerial work platform and skid steer.
- Responsible for doing preventive maintenance (breakdown calls and be able to perform trouble shooting) checks as required by preventive maintenance schedule.
- Responsible for following work orders processes in place, contacting vendors, ordering supplies and keeping accurate records.
- Responsible for maintaining working area and electrical warehouse in a safe, tidy condition.
- Responsible for on-the-job training of apprentice workers.
- Take ownership of the facility and exemplify quality attention to details
- Provide quality workmanship and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Perform other duties as required.
- Graduate of a recognized electrical and/or instrumentation program with interprovincial journeyman ticket.
- Strong acumen surrounding instrumentation installation/troubleshooting is an asset
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills and team orientation.
- Ability to repair & troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation & control equipment & emission monitoring instrumentation.
- Ability to install process control instrumentation such as transmitters, controllers, analyzers, and control valves
- Ability to calibrate a variety of instruments
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff, management, vendors and contractors.
- Ability to lead electrical contractors as required.
- Ability to read electrical blueprints and update them as necessary.
- Knowledge of application software including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC software such as RSView.
- SAP knowledge is an asset.
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends and holidays as required.
- Ability to work at heights or off a platform.
- Unrestricted cross border mobility.
