Our insurance client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Reinsurance Accountant to join their team on a contract basis. The contract is for a minimum of 8 months and with a possibility to extend. This role is crucial in supporting our quarter-close processes and ensuring accurate financial reporting across multiple regulated entities. Responsibilities:
Assist with a variety of duties within the quarter-close process.
Prepare and analyse financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and Bermuda statutory requirements.
Support all accounting and operational aspects of reinsurance transactions
Potentially alternate between GAAP and statutory reporting tasks each quarter.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and automate processes.
Qualifications:
CPA designation is highly preferred
Prior experience with US GAAP for reinsurance/ insurance companies is preferred
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Experience with Hyperion and Oracle is highly desirable; experience with a general ledger system is required. Advanced Excel skills are required.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
