We are WSP.The OpportunityBuild the Future with UsAs a Mechanical Designer within WSP's Buildings M&E team in Winnipeg, you will play a key role in translating engineering concepts into coordinated, constructible mechanical designs. Working alongside engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you will help deliver high-quality building systems that support safe, efficient, and sustainable communities.Your Impact
- Prepare detailed mechanical layouts, drawings, and 3D models for building systems including HVAC, hydronics, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and controls using REVIT and AutoCAD.
- Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and other disciplines to support clash-free construction documentation.
- Support engineers by developing design details, schedules, and drawing packages from design development through issued-for-construction.
- Apply relevant codes, standards, and project requirements to ensure compliant and constructible designs.
- Participate in collaborative design-assist environments, working closely with engineers and trade partners.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design quality, efficiency, and coordination practices within the team.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Building Systems Technology, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of mechanical design experience within a consulting or construction environment, ideally focused on buildings.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building control systems.
- Proficiency in Autodesk REVIT MEP and/or AutoCAD MEP for 3D modelling and construction documentation.
- Familiarity with National and Manitoba Building Codes, Plumbing Codes, Fire Codes, and relevant standards.
- Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
