Our growing client who is a leader in auto collision repair is looking for a Paint Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4-5 years related experience and will be responsible for the following:We are looking for a dedicated Automotive Paint Technician to be an integral part of the daily operations.In this role, you will be responsible for the proper application of body paints - one of the last major aesthetic and functional processes in the assembly of vehicles. The Paint Technician operates paint machines and tools, and uses the specified paint mixes in accordance with automotive engineering specifications, painting procedures and standards.What You'll Do:De-grease, remove dirt, old paint or rust from vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint applicationMix paint pigments to match colour specifications or vehicle's original coloursImplement the paint mixes as specified by the automotive paint engineersPour paint into spray guns and adjust nozzles and paint mixes for proper paint flow and coating thicknessOperate automated body paint systems for various types of vehiclesEnsure the painting processes adopted are performed in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possibleAssist in the development of new paint processes and proceduresMonitor painting operations to identify flaws, such as blisters and streaks, and correct their causesEnsure repairs flow through the workshop and identify issues that result in failureUnderstand repair methodologyAct as an active team member who encourages a collaborative working environment focusing on the customer and what matters to themDeliver on promises made to customers ensuring they will be without their vehicles for the shortest possible timeMaintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and equipmentFollow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and handling of materialsWhat You'll Bring:5 years or more experience within the automotive repair industry as a paint technicianRed Seal - Automotive Painter (410N), or actively registered apprenticeship are an assetStrong knowledge of automotive refinishing and repair practices and proceduresDemonstrates adaptability and openness to change with a proactive mindset in embracing new work practices and technologiesExcellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skillsStrong ability to multi-taskCommitment to an environment of continuous improvementEfficient communication and conflict resolution skillsDetail oriented approach with an emphasis on Quality controlAbility to take direction and perform well under pressureStrong awareness of safety practices and proceduresHours Mon-Fri - 8:30am-5pm
