Our growing Mississauga client who is a leader in Automotive Collision Repair is looking for a Paint Prep Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years related experience and will be responsible for the following:You will be responsible for the proper preparation of auto vehicles prior to application of refinish coatings. You will operate paint machines and tools, and will use the specified paint mixes, primers and sealers in accordance with automotive engineering specifications, painting procedures and standards. The Paint Prep Technician may have an advanced skill set including light body repairs and paint refinishing (Paint Technician).What You'll Do:Preparing repaired surfaces for primer, paint, and finishingWork closely with painters and body technicians to ensure all vehicles are prepped to a high-quality standardClean, degrease, and inspect surfaces to ensure they are ready for primer and paintPerform sanding, masking, feather edging, and surface preparation on repaired panelsApply primers and sealers as directed the paint, shop or OE processesMask and protect areas of the vehicle that should not be paintedPour paint into spray guns and adjust nozzles and paint mixes for proper paint flow and coating thicknessOperate automated body paint systems for various types of vehiclesEnsure the painting processes adopted are performed in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possibleAssist in the development of new paint processes and proceduresMonitor painting operations to identify flaws, such as blisters and streaks, and correct their causesEnsure repairs flow through the workshop and identify issues that result in failureBe an active team member who encourages a collaborative working environment focusing on the customer and what matters to themMaintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and equipmentFollow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and handling of materialsWhat You'll Bring:1-2 years experience of working within the collision repair industry, preferably in the Paint departmentKnowledge of automotive refinishing and repair practices and proceduresAttention to detail and pride in producing clean, professional workAbility to follow standard operating procedures and work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentBasic experience with sanding tools, masking materials, and automotive refinishing products (preferred but not required; training provided)Demonstrates adaptability and openness to change with a proactive mindset in embracing new work practices and technologiesCommitment to an environment of continuous improvementAbility to take direction and perform well under pressureStrong awareness of safety practices and proceduresHours Mon-Fri- 8:30am-5pm Salary $75K-90KIf you are interested in this great opportunity then please email your resume asap.
