Actalent is hiring project managers to support our client in the industrial and mining industries. There are multiple positions open covering different areas in Quebec (Port Cartier, Longueil, Fermont).Description
  • Scope, Schedule, Budget: Define scope; create/maintain integrated schedules; control budgets/cash flow; manage variances and forecasts; lead change control.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify, quantify, mitigate, and escalate risks; implement countermeasures to recover off‑track projects.
  • Stakeholder & Communications: Align plant leadership, functional SMEs, external partners/vendors; issue regular progress reports and stage‑gate packages.
  • Contractor/Vendor Management: Oversee EPCs and trades; ensure compliance with specs, quality, schedule, and site rules.
  • Financials & Approvals: Support capital allocation and internal approval committee processes with robust business cases and cost controls.
  • Documentation & Lessons Learned: Maintain accurate records, as‑built and turnover packages; closeout with lessons learned for reuse.
  • Travel up to 30% to sites, depending on project
  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of capital and operational projects in a heavy‑industry, safety‑first environment—owning scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk while coordinating multi‑disciplinary internal teams and external contractors.
  • Safety Leadership: Embed “safety first” in all planning, site work, contractor interactions, and change decisions; stop‑work authority and reporting adherence.
  • Project Governance: Drive the full lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring/control, closure) with structured plans, WBS, baselines, and KPIs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Engineering Degree (mech/civil/ process, etc.)
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience managing deliverables, managing budgets and schedules
