- Coordination of the movements of finished goods and materials between plants, DC’s, depots, and 3PLs, nationally.
- Prompt dispatch and monitoring of drivers; proactively addressing and communicating to key stakeholders any issue affecting deliveries.
- Update various files and systems including TMS (E2Open), ELM.
- Generating transportation documents & distributing to respective transport drivers.
- Address & resolve trailer mechanical issues as needed, working with on-site or on-call mechanic for timely repairs.
- Collaboration with the Distribution Team for shunt movements, load ready times, daily priorities, etc.
- Assist with the compliancy of trailer preventative maintenance (PM) and annual safety programs.
- Flag and resolve GPS trailer issues as needed.
- Conduct daily trailer yard checks to reconcile trailers in yard & maintain shared trailer yard board with the Distribution Center Team.
- Monitoring & responding to emails in a prompt & timely manner.
- Responsible for ensuring all trailers are dispatched for respective shift.
- Escalation to leadership for any transportation related issues such as delays, breakdowns, etc.
- Supporting supply chain team for inventory management of logistics equipment; ex. bread handling trays.
- Conduct shift handovers within the transportation team.
- When required, support with line haul and delivery planning.
- Back Up: Other Transportation Coordinators on the team.
- At least 2 years of experience in logistics coordination and dispatching, in a fast-paced transportation environment.
- Hands-on experience with Transportation Management System (TMS) is an asset (i.e., E2OpenTMS).
- Must be able to work under pressure with tight deadlines with competing priorities, making decisions on the spot.
- Work independently with the confidence to action transportation logistical needs.
- Sense of urgency working in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Professional phone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Punctuality and flexible to work all shifts, including days, nights, weekends and weekdays. Vacation coverage.
- Microsoft Office Proficiency (Word, Outlook, & Excel).
