We’re looking for a Project Manager - Deep Utility in Whitehorse.Our client is a well-established company specializing in heavy civil construction and utility infrastructure. With over 30 years of industry experience, they are looking to add a dynamic and experienced Project Manager - Deep Utility to their team. This role will focus on managing multiple utility projects ranging from $3 million to $15 million, overseeing teams, and ensuring timely and high-quality project delivery. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, energetic, and able to manage multiple projects while maintaining strong client relationships.Utility Project Manager responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the execution of deep utility infrastructure projects, including water, sewer, and electrical systems, ranging from $3 million to $15 million in value
  • Coordinate and supervise project teams, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery
  • Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to ensure accurate execution of work
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely completion and staying within financial constraints
  • Ensure all projects comply with safety standards, regulations, and company quality protocols
  • Regularly communicate with clients to provide updates and manage expectations; foster strong relationships to ensure repeat business
  • Handle conflict resolution on-site and within the project team, ensuring a positive and productive work environment
  • Monitor project performance and make necessary adjustments to keep projects on track
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for all projects, including permits, change orders, and safety reports
  • Supervise daily operations, including handling logistics, coordinating with vendors, and addressing any project challenges
  • Ensure effective communication with senior management and provide timely progress reports
  • Primarily office-based in Whitehorse with occasional travel (up to 4 hours) to job sites; company-provided accommodations available
The successful candidate has:
  • At least 5 years of experience in project management for deep utilities, construction, or civil infrastructure
  • A technical degree (e.g., Construction Management, Civil Technology) or equivalent experience—no need for a civil engineering degree
  • Strong understanding of blueprints and technical drawings with the ability to effectively communicate them to teams and clients
  • Experience managing projects in the $3 million to $15 million range, with a proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Positive, energetic attitude with a focus on providing excellent client service and maintaining strong, professional relationships
  • Solid conflict resolution skills and the ability to manage difficult situations in a calm and professional manner
  • A willingness to travel within a 4-hour radius of Whitehorse; overnight stays in hotels provided
  • Valid driver’s license; must pass drug and alcohol tests
