Weâre looking for a Project Manager - Deep Utility in Whitehorse.Our client is a well-established company specializing in heavy civil construction and utility infrastructure. With over 30 years of industry experience, they are looking to add a dynamic and experienced Project Manager - Deep Utility to their team. This role will focus on managing multiple utility projects ranging from $3 million to $15 million, overseeing teams, and ensuring timely and high-quality project delivery. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, energetic, and able to manage multiple projects while maintaining strong client relationships.Utility Project Manager responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the execution of deep utility infrastructure projects, including water, sewer, and electrical systems, ranging from $3 million to $15 million in value
Coordinate and supervise project teams, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery
Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to ensure accurate execution of work
Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely completion and staying within financial constraints
Ensure all projects comply with safety standards, regulations, and company quality protocols
Regularly communicate with clients to provide updates and manage expectations; foster strong relationships to ensure repeat business
Handle conflict resolution on-site and within the project team, ensuring a positive and productive work environment
Monitor project performance and make necessary adjustments to keep projects on track
Maintain up-to-date documentation for all projects, including permits, change orders, and safety reports
Supervise daily operations, including handling logistics, coordinating with vendors, and addressing any project challenges
Ensure effective communication with senior management and provide timely progress reports
Primarily office-based in Whitehorse with occasional travel (up to 4 hours) to job sites; company-provided accommodations available
The successful candidate has:
At least 5 years of experience in project management for deep utilities, construction, or civil infrastructure
A technical degree (e.g., Construction Management, Civil Technology) or equivalent experienceâno need for a civil engineering degree
Strong understanding of blueprints and technical drawings with the ability to effectively communicate them to teams and clients
Experience managing projects in the $3 million to $15 million range, with a proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Positive, energetic attitude with a focus on providing excellent client service and maintaining strong, professional relationships
Solid conflict resolution skills and the ability to manage difficult situations in a calm and professional manner
A willingness to travel within a 4-hour radius of Whitehorse; overnight stays in hotels provided
Valid driverâs license; must pass drug and alcohol tests
