Apply to Deerhurst today, Muskoka’s preferred place to work and play.Position SummaryPerforming routine maintenance and repairs on the pools, both indoor and out as well as providing support to guest rooms and throughout the Resort, they are responsible for ensuring that the Resort is maintained in the best possible condition minimal inconvenience to guests.Duties and Responsibilities:Ensures the well-being of our guests and colleagues by being alert to and reporting potential hazards and malfunctioning equipmentMaintains pools i.e. cleaning, vacuuming, adjusting chemical levels, changing pool valves, replacing filters, basic wall covering repairOpen and closing of swimming pools when neededSwimming pool maintenanceEquipment installs and repair (pumps, heaters, filters)Leak detectionMay be called upon to assist the team with resort maintenanceCompletes all other duties as requiredQualifications:Able to handle problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessaryAble to evaluate and select alternative courses of action quickly and accuratelyGuest oriented with a sincere, helpful, caring and friendly personalityAble to take initiative within given guidelinesPays precise attention to detail, order and cleanlinessAble to maintain composure and adapt in a fast past environmentSome familiarity with hand and power tools.Is flexible with their schedule, able to work long hours, shift work, evenings, weekends and holidays as business levels requireAble to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objectsEducation & ExperienceExperience in a related field or technical school an assetExperience working with pools an assetExperience in one or more of the building trades an asset (sheetrock, tile, carpentry, wallpaper, minor plumbing and electrical, etc.)Valid Ontario driver’s license with clean driving record requiredThe Perks for All Team Members
