You'll partner closely with artists, engineers, analysts, and product managers to design compelling gameplay systems, competitive features, and monetization strategies tailored to the unique player behaviour in sports simulation games.You'll work on projects like designing new events tied to the NFL season or evolving gameplay to deepen progression and competitiveness, all while using data to guide iteration.What You'll Do:Design and balance core gameplay systems, including player progression and rewardsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to create fun, sticky, and monetizable features that improve retention, playtime, and revenue per playerOwn the design documentation and clearly communicate mechanics, flow, and rationale with other team membersUse player data and telemetry to identify problems, validate hypotheses, and improve systemsParticipate in roadmap planning and contribute ideas for game updates and live events tied to NFL milestonesIterate on game balance and tuning based on internal testing and player feedbackPlaytest and deconstruct competitive titles, on and off platform, to generate insights and design inspirationWhat You Bring to the Team:Strong understanding of systems design, progression loops, and live operationsProficiency in creating clear, actionable design documentsExperience using data to inform design decisionsExcellent communication and collaboration skills across disciplinesPassion for sports games and competitive playDeep interest in UGC games/content like Roblox, Minecraft, or FortniteBonus Points for:Knowledge of American football rules, terminology, and fan culturePrior experience shipping features or whole games on Roblox or other UGC platformsPrior experience using Roblox StudioPrior experience in free-to-play game development or a background in economy designDegree in Game Design, Interactive Media, or a related field of studyDue to the collaborative nature of the game designer role, this position will require someone who can commit to working hours between EST and PST.Voldex is an equal opportunity employer.
