
Sr Manager, Real Estate Investments

- Providing support and advice to the Managing Director in connection with the development and execution of the real estate investment strategies for the Funds
- Reviewing investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, making recommendations and preparing commercial due diligence approval memos, related to potential investments
- Overseeing the ongoing compliance of real estate investments with OPG's policies, applicable laws and regulations; follow up on any compliance or tax issues internally and with external service providers
- Contribute to the timely delivery of required data and documentation to support portfolio monitoring; this includes verification of manager data submissions, preparation of meeting notes from attendance at LPAC and Advisory Committee meetings and ad-hoc investment update meetings
- Active monitoring, oversight and evaluation of general partners and investment managers with approved mandates and investment policies and procedures.
- Track and report performance of the portfolio; responsibility for preparation of quarterly reports to OPG's Investment, Risk and Pension Committees
- Contribute to managing existing and prospective relationships with general partners, investment managers and external service providers
- Working with members of OPG's Fund Management Group and other internal. business partners (Legal, Tax, Corporate Accounting) on operational, financial, and compliance matters
- A minimum of 10 years of private markets investment management / advisory experience is required with a preference for candidates with institutional real estate experience
- Proven ability to evaluate and recommend private markets strategies, conduct investment manager searches and perform due diligence on co-investments and direct investments
- Understand portfolio construction and risk management and the importance of creating well balanced portfolios
- Requires critical thinking, analytical, research and creative problem-solving skills
- Proven experience performing and coordinating economic analysis, financial modelling and commercial analysis
- People-orientated with strong interpersonal skills, adept at building and maintaining positive, productive and collaborative working relationships and partnerships externally and internally with a wide variety of stakeholders, including the ability to present investment material to senior and executive management
- Attention to detail, strong sense of urgency and decision-making skills conducive to managing priorities and meeting internal and external timelines
- Advanced Excel and technical skills: proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, macros) and familiarity with data analysis or database management tools (SQL, Python, or similar); good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications required
