$1000 Employee referral bonus programPosition Summary:Reporting to the Production Supervisor(s), the General Labourer performs a variety of manual or machine-assisted tasks with duties involved in the processing of turkey products ready for shipment. The position requires initiative, willingness to learn all processes and to follow strict hygiene and health and safety regulations.A Typical day:
- Handle, inspect and prepare poultry for next step processing
- Wash, cut, trim, and sort prima sections
- Work on a production line, performing various cuts
- Inspection for quality and food safety
- Carry out other tasks related to the processing of turkey for shipping and further processing
- Preform tasks which are repetitive
- Requires strong attention to detail and hand/eye coordination
- Ability to lift a min. of 30 lbs, and ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Physically demanding and fast-paced environment
- Ability to meet production deadlines
- Must be able to work in a damp, dirty environment
- Must be able to handle raw poultry
- Strong commitment to SAFETY and QUALITY practices
- Food production related experience is an asset
- Ability to touch and handle raw poultry
- Must be able to communicate and understand English
- High school education or equivalent
