$1000employee referral programJob Type: Full-time 40hrs/week, Monday to ThursdayAvailable shift: 5:15am – 3:45pm OR 10:00am – 8:30pmPosition Summary:General Labourer performs a variety of manual or machine-assisted tasks with duties involved in the processing of meat (i.e., turkey) products ready for shipment. The position requires initiative, willingness to learn all processes and to follow strict hygiene and health and safety regulations.A Typical day:
- Handle raw meat
- Cut, trim, sort, remove specific meat sections
- Remove bones and cut meat into standard cuts
- Tend assemble lines to perform cuts
- Orient meat products on conveyor belts
- Pack raw meat product into carton
- Apply labels onto product cartons
- Maintain clean work area and pick up meat debris
- Follow all Health & Safety and Food Safety requirement
- Perform tasks which are repetitive and require strong hand/eye coordination
- Ability to lift a min of 30 pounds, and ability to stand for extended hours
- Physically demanding, fast paced
- Must be able to work in a cold, damp environment
- Must be 18yrs and above
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
- High school education or equivalent
- Clear criminal background check
