Reporting to the Executive Director, the Technical Director and Facilities Manager will work closely with the Programming Manager and the Events Director.The Technical Director and Facilities Manager role is to supervise and manage all technical and production aspects of overall activities in the Corleck building and oversee the building’s maintenance, security and upkeep. This position will also supervise the work of any and all contract crews hired for specific calls.Specific responsibilities include:PRODUCTION MANAGEMENTCIF Productions and Co-productions
  • Serve as the primary technical operator for the event space and its building spaces, and act as the lead manager for hired crew and staff as needed.
  • Manage technical and production aspects in conjunction with the Programming Manager and Events Director.
  • Cost and approve technical designs in association with the Team.
  • Oversee full-time contract technicians, including tracking overall hours and scheduling.
  • Plan and maintain the production schedule and scheduled activities (installs, tech, opening, closing, and strikes/ returns etc) for each show and schedule build times for shops and stage crews
  • Contracts and coordinates seasonal crew and production tech personnel
  • Communicate all schedules and plans efficiently and promptly
  • Work with associated companies and their production managers to develop, maintain and execute production schedules
  • Work with the associated company production manager to ensure the schedule and production/design are safe for personnel and the venue.
Crew and staff management
  • Ensure that all production personnel are qualified, versed in and compliant with current safety practices and legislation
FACILITIES MANAGEMENTRentals of the facilities
  • Work with Events Director and Programming Manager to authorize, clarify, and estimate costs for crew and other technical expenses for rentals
  • Schedule, crew and oversee the client, patron and building safety of rentals
  • Aggregate timesheets and expenses for rentals, crew, and other expenses for invoicing
  • Authorize payroll for production staff and all production-related expense reports
  • Primary responsibility to track building condition and prioritize small, medium and large facility projects
  • Arrange for and implement internal building or building envelope repairs or renovations
  • Overseeing building maintenance / Supervising upkeep of the physical plant
  • Manage building maintenance contracts
  • Repair, maintain, and update theatrical infrastructure as possible and necessary.
  • Oversee adherence to all health and safety guidelines within the building and other CIF activities
OTHER
The Staff at CIF works in a very collaborative way, and though each staff member has specific responsibilities and duties, we do try to support one another. This position will be asked to assist with fundraising events and/or participate in strategic planning.
