Our client is a mid-sized General Contractor with operations across Ontario. In the Greater Ottawa Metropolitan Area, they specialize in small to mid-sized commercial and retail projects, ranging from interior fit-outs to mid-scale new builds.As a Site Superintendent, you will play a key role in the successful execution of construction projects, working closely with clients, subcontractors, and trades. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring that commercial and retail projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily construction site operations, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and according to defined scope.
Lead and coordinate the work of subcontractors, trades, and on-site teams to maintain smooth workflow and productivity.
Serve as the main point of contact on-site, fostering strong communication with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
Develop, maintain, and adjust project schedules to align with key milestones, proactively resolving delays or challenges.
Track project performance and provide timely progress reports to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.
Work in close partnership with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to drive project success and alignment.
Conduct routine site visits to verify adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and contractual specifications.

Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Site Superintendent with a recognized General Contractor.
Proven track record in managing full-cycle construction projects, including interior renovations in the retail and commercial sectors, as well as new builds, with budgets of up to $15 million.
Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from architectural and engineering drawings.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
Highly organized, with excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
In-depth knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations, with a strong commitment to site safety.
Must hold a valid G Class driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
