Position OverviewOur client, a well-established General Contractor, is seeking a Field Engineer for a 4-storey, 140-unit residential project in Laval.This role is a hybrid between a Project Manager and a Site Superintendent , combining strong field presence with coordination, cost control, and administrative responsibilities. The Field Engineer will act as a key link between the site and the office, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.Key ResponsibilitiesField OperationsSupport and coordinate daily site activities alongside the SuperintendentMonitor work progress and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standardsAssist in scheduling trades and ensuring proper sequencing of workParticipate in site meetings with subcontractors and consultantsEnsure health & safety regulations are enforced on siteProject Coordination & AdministrationReview and track shop drawings, submittals, and RFIsAssist in budget tracking and cost controlHelp prepare and review change ordersMaintain project documentation and reportingCoordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for material deliveriesSupport project close-out procedures (deficiencies, occupancy, handover)QualificationsEngineering degree or Construction-related diploma (Civil Engineering preferred)2–5 years of experience in residential constructionExperience in multi-unit residential projects is considered an assetStrong understanding of construction sequencing and site logisticsKnowledge of Quebec construction standards and safety regulationsProficiency with MS Project, Excel, and project management softwareBilingual (French required; English considered an asset)Profile SoughtHands-on and comfortable working both on-site and in coordination rolesStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsDetail-oriented with solid technical understandingProactive and capable of managing multiple prioritiesStrong communication skills with trades and consultantsWhat We OfferOpportunity to work on a large-scale residential project in LavalGrowth potential within a reputable General ContractorCompetitive compensation package aligned with market standardsDynamic and collaborative work environment
