This role safeguards regulatory compliance, supports operational excellence, and provides technical expertise that strengthens asset reliability, safety, and service delivery. By overseeing maintenance strategies, standards, and partnerships, the Manager ensures weighing systems consistently meet operational, regulatory, and customer requirements.What You'll Be Doing:
- Ensure compliance with Measurement Canada (Weights and Measures Act) and all other applicable local, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Liaise with regulatory and governing bodies, maintaining required certifications, documentation, and audit readiness.
- Lead the Scale Maintenance Program, including planning, scheduling, vendor coordination, and quality assurance.
- Manage the capital budget for scale and related equipment; support planning and execution of capital projects.
- Provide technical guidance on equipment specifications, capacity requirements, standards, and critical spare parts inventories.
- Partner with Country Operations to evaluate facility condition, maintenance needs, and weighing system performance.
- Develop and execute strategies and programs to improve service delivery and align scale maintenance with divisional objectives.
- Identify, communicate, and standardize operational best practices across regions and business units.
- Support and implement proactive HSE and security programs in collaboration with the EHS team.
- Ensure project and operational activities meet all quality standards, codes, and customer requirements.
- Provide direction to Supply Chain Services in vendor negotiations and evaluate contracted maintenance providers.
- Prepare regular and ad‑hoc reports on achievements, risks, and opportunities.
- Participate in working groups and industry forums to share insights and strengthen program performance.
- Experience reading building plans, specifications, and managing contracts with external service providers.
- Ability to travel frequently (estimated 6–10 nights per month) and manage responsibilities remotely as required.
- Strong computer proficiency, including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing tools.
- Minimum 5–8 years of progressively responsible experience in scale maintenance and/or construction, including bulk material handling systems.
- Journeyperson status (including registered service provider status with Measurement Canada) in an industrial trade.
- A degree or diploma in Agriculture, Business Administration, or Commerce is considered an asset.
