This is a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become a part of a passionate, dynamic team that is here to disrupt the fitness industry.About the Role:We are seeking a driven and dedicated Events Support Staff who is passionate about growing a business, networking, nurturing client relationships and planning and hosting a large variety of unique events. The ideal candidate must be available on-call for events, demonstrating open availability, particularly during evenings and weekends. The role is contractual, with a casual and flexible work arrangement.The Events Support Staff will support private events hosted at Sweat and Tonic. You will also use your expertise to plan and execute internal company events including our annual “summer social” and end of year “gala”.Your position will be Events Support Staff, reporting to the Corporate Sales & Private Events Manager.You will be responsible for supporting events at S&T’s two Toronto locations.Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the overall cleanliness and safety of the event space including washrooms, foyer space, and bar
  • Support bartenders in set up and tear down of the bar, stocking bar ingredients and ice as needed throughout the duration of the event
  • Assist in removing and/or rearranging furniture as required for an event as well as AV set up such as projector, DJ booth, and speakers
  • Serve drinks or food as required.
  • Clearing of glasses, plates, silverware, and garbage.
  • Other support roles and responsibilities as required for the successful execution of the event as indicated by the Corporate Sales & Private Events Manager.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations and food and beverage teams to ensure events and partnerships are executed at the highest level.
  • Ensure facilities at both locations are optimized for successful client events.
About You:
  • Must have 2+ years of professional experience in events, sales, business, or related field
  • Must have event planning experience
  • Must have interest in fitness, health and wellness
  • College or university degree in business or related field is preferred
  • Bartending experience is an asset
  • Hospitality experience is preferred
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • An analytical approach and the ability to use quantitative data in decision making
  • Customer service oriented - passionate about problem solving
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work primarily from S&T
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings and weekends when required for events
