- Reporting directly to the PM&R Manager, the Maintenance Planner responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
- Works with process analyst and PM&R Manager in planning maintenance tasks, days and projects
- Ensuring that all parts, material, and personnel are available for planned maintenance tasks.
- Works with maintenance supervisor in building pm programs that are effective and efficient,
- Responsible for managing all aspects of CMMS including work order management, inventory, and pm completion rates.
- Responsible for tracking and reporting all maintenance hours broken down into categories to be used in building the maintenance plan. (Reactive work, Proactive work, Project work etc.)
- Works with process analyst and PM&R Manager to set Min/Max of spare parts
- Assist in the planning process and develop a file of standard work orders for recurring repairs based on historical experience
- Plan and schedule all maintenance work, maintain appropriate records and files to permit meaningful analysis and report completed work results
- Develop a weekly work schedule for preventative maintenance and planned work ensuring a scheduling balance with hours available and full utilization of personnel
- Coordinate with appropriate teams to ensure equipment availability prior to scheduling
- Review work requests and work orders and ensure that the scope is clearly defined.
- Ensure completed schedules and work orders are returned at the proper time
- Manage backlog of work orders
- Manage VMI items and add/remove as needed
- Work closely with storeroom attendants
- Evaluate effectiveness of current storeroom layout
- Ensure processes for receiving and naming parts in E-Maintenance are followed
- Review and document completed schedules, capturing all appropriate comments in the database
- Proficient knowledge of computer hardware, Windows system and Microsoft office.
- Basic network knowledge of understanding network protocols (TCP/IP), subnetting, security basics, cloud networking, and troubleshooting network issues.
- Resolving computer issues requires a mix of technical knowledge, systematic troubleshooting, and soft skills like patience and communication. (Key skills include identifying symptoms, isolating root causes, using search engines for research, updating drivers, and understanding hardware components)
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
- High School Education/GED
- Five-to-seven years’ experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
- At least five years of proven experience in a maintenance planning role
- Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in industrial maintenance or related field
- Packaging industry experience
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, SPC, and Lean Manufacturing
- Strong problem-solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Must be able to look at new solutions and “think outside the box”
- Effective leadership skills such as conflict resolution, communication, decision making, etc.
- Demonstrated employee relations skills and the ability to motivate people
- Excellent time management and project management skills as well as the ability to multi-task
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of various Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The associate may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
- Generally, works in a plant environment but will be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office setting
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic
- The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
- The noise level is frequently loud
