- Base salary range for Maintenance Planner between $67,000 and $97,000 CAD annually
- Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment in the facility.
- Coordinate and plan corrective maintenance based on priority, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
- Coordinate planned downtimes to reduce mean time between failures and minimize interference with production schedules.
- Ensure all maintenance work orders are properly prepared, including detailed job instructions, necessary parts, tools, and manpower.
- Schedule maintenance activities to align with production schedules and reduce equipment downtime.
- Work with production teams to ensure maintenance activities are performed during planned shutdowns or off-peak times.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of parts and supplies needed for maintenance tasks.
- Coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely procurement of parts and materials.
- Identify and manage critical spare parts to avoid potential downtime due to part shortages.
- Generate, prioritize, and manage work orders in the maintenance management system.
- Ensure timely closure of work orders and proper documentation of maintenance activities.
- Track and report on work order completion rates, labor hours, and equipment downtime.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to analyze equipment performance and failure data.
- Recommend improvements to maintenance practices, procedures, and equipment design to enhance reliability and reduce breakdowns.
- Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance effectiveness, such as Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
- Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain records of safety inspections and compliance with OSHA standards.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
- Work closely with production supervisors and managers to ensure maintenance activities are aligned with production goals.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance services or repairs.
- Provide regular updates to management on maintenance progress, equipment health, and project status.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in maintenance planning or a related role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in corrugated manufacturing or paper industry is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of SAP maintenance modules
- Strong knowledge of maintenance planning processes, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and equipment reliability practices.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficiency in CMMS software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar certifications are a plus.
- Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Professional (MPSP)
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting, bending, and reaching as required for the role.
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures and conditions as dictated by the plant environment.
