Our client is looking for a Tax Accountant to join this boutique CA firm located in North York. This firm provides top-notch tax, accounting, and tax advisory services to private corporations and high net worth individuals. You will be given the opportunity to assume a Canadian personal and corporate tax role, reporting to a Tax Partner with over 35 years of Canadian tax experience.What you will be doing:Compile and review financial statements and Canadian tax returnsOrganize source documents including investment and tax details provided by clientsIdentify outstanding information on files and draft requests for informationInput data from financial records into Profile tax softwarePrepare personal, corporate, and tax memos including GST/HST returns, and estimate taxes payable and tax installmentsPrepare personal tax returns for individuals with domestic and foreign investments, self-employment income, and rental propertiesCommunicate with Canada Revenue Agency and other tax authorities regarding client matters or status updatesExcellent mentorship opportunity to learn and grow in Canadian taxWhat you must have:A passion for attaining accounting and tax knowledge including tax planning is desirable for this positionEager to learn and improve; willing to put in the time, and “walk the talk”Canadian tax experience is essentialMinimum one to three years of relevant experience (covering tax season) in a public accounting firm settingProficiency with CaseWare and Profile (or other comparable tax software)Able to deal with working papers that have double-sided referencesProfessional maturity and confidence in oneself yet not afraid to ask questionsAbility to deal effectively with principal, regulatory authorities, and clientsAbility to prioritize daily tasks, multitask, and work under pressure to meet deadlinesHighly organized, able to work independently, and self manageAdequate written and verbal communication skills; responsivePossess or willing to attain exceptional technical skills; willingness to learnCPA is not requiredStrong interpersonal and organizational skills; able to organize, prepare and clearly present information to team and clientsAdvanced MS Office skills (particularly in using Excel) would be an assetThank you for your interest in this opportunity.
