They are a key spokesperson, advocate, and visible representative of Mascall Dance in the communities we serve.The Managing Director oversees the strategic direction and day-to-day operation of Mascall Dance. They are responsible and accountable for the overall management of Mascall Dance’s business. The person we’re looking for is very familiar with the characteristics of live arts, an experienced grantwriter, and already works in the non-profit sector.MascallDance is committed to exposing its’ colonial practices and fostering the understandings that come through diversity. This reveals itself in what we program, who we hire, and the communities we choose to work with.The Managing Director advocates for equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives that are grounded in partnerships and committed to inviting historically excluded voices into Mascall Dance’s workspace, boardroom, backstage, and through Mascall Dance productions and community programming.By stewarding effective funding submissions and earned revenue outcomes, the Managing Director balances the need for artistic vibrancy with fiscal responsibility. They work closely with the Artistic Director on fundraising for the Company and work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure good governance, communication, and transparency. The position requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with artists, donors, board members, community leaders, administrative and artistic staff.
