- Lead and manage the Indirect Spend category management, strategic sourcing, and procurement operations, ensuring alignment with the client's strategic objectives and cost-saving targets.
- Establish and oversee the governance structure for Indirect Spend in collaboration with senior executive sponsors, ensuring robust management of a $300MM+ spend portfolio across categories including Distribution, Logistics, Marketing, IT, Packaging, and Professional Services.
- Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies, leveraging market insights and supplier relationships to drive value creation and operational excellence.
- Foster strong partnerships with client business units and executive stakeholders to ensure the effective execution of sourcing strategies and continuous improvement of procurement processes.
- Lead change management initiatives to promote a mature procurement model across the organization, ensuring timely and effective execution of sourcing events.
- Build and maintain a procurement toolbox that includes negotiation plans, should-cost models, competitive bidding, and innovative sourcing solutions to optimize cost structures and supplier engagements.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous development.
- Ensure compliance with best-in-class procurement policies and procedures, including legal and regulatory standards.
- Regularly update stakeholders through comprehensive status reports and Quarterly Business Reviews, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in strategic sourcing and procurement across various indirect categories. Experience in retail or consumer-facing industries is preferred.
- Strong financial acumen with a proven track record of managing and delivering against P&L objectives.
- Excellent negotiation skills and experience with high-value contract management.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence senior-level management and gain consensus across multiple business units.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to drive operational and organizational change while fostering innovation.
- Eligibility to work in Canada and willingness to relocate or reside in Vancouver, with a requirement of on-site presence four days a week.
