Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Work Environment: 100% in-office
Vacation: 2 weeks to start
Benefits: Co-pay Medical, Dental, and Vision coverageWe are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee the daily operations of a commercial trucking fleet, including tractors, trailers, and related equipment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring regulatory compliance, managing maintenance programs, and optimizing fleet performance.The successful candidate will work closely with operations and maintenance teams to maintain safe, reliable, and cost-efficient fleet operations while ensuring compliance with transportation regulations.Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of a commercial truck fleet including tractors, trailers, and related equipment
Ensure fleet compliance with DOT / MTO / FMCSA regulations, CVOR requirements, ELD mandates, and Hours of Service rules
Manage preventative maintenance programs to minimize breakdowns and roadside violations
Coordinate repairs, inspections, and certifications with internal maintenance teams or third-party vendors
Monitor vehicle uptime, utilization, and lifecycle planning including replacements, rebuilds, and equipment disposal
Track and control operating costs including fuel, maintenance, tires, tolls, and repairs
Analyze telematics and ELD data to improve fuel efficiency, reduce idle time, and monitor driver performance
Oversee fleet safety programs, including driver files, training records, and incident reviews
Manage accident investigations, insurance claims, and damage recovery processes
Maintain accurate records for licensing, permits (IFTA, IRP), registrations, and regulatory documentation
Negotiate service agreements and pricing with vendors, dealerships, leasing companies, and fuel providers
Collaborate with dispatch and operations teams to ensure equipment availability meets operational needs
Supervise fleet personnel such as mechanics, coordinators, and yard staff where applicable
Prepare fleet performance, cost, and operational reports for leadershipQualifications
5-7+ years of fleet management experience in a trucking or transportation environment
Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle regulations including DOT/MTO, Hours of Service, ELD, IFTA, IRP, and CVOR
Experience managing Class 8 trucks and trailer fleets
Solid understanding of heavy-duty diesel maintenance practices
Experience using fleet management software, telematics, and ELD systems
Proven ability to manage maintenance budgets and control operating costs
Experience with vendor negotiations and contract management
Knowledge of fleet safety compliance and driver file management
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Leadership experience supervising fleet or maintenance personnel is considered an assetPreferred:Post-secondary education in transportation, logistics, business, or a related field
