- Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the development and feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions. Provide feedback and data to validate designs based on field observations and technical analysis.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow organizational HSE policies and procedures to identify and mitigate risks to the environment and workplace safety. Prepare and maintain health and safety plans for project activities. Instruct team members in safe working methods and escalate serious safety concerns as appropriate.
- Waste Management: Support waste management initiatives including waste reduction, segregation, storage, transportation, and disposal.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Assist in identifying, analyzing, and resolving technical issues with equipment and field experiments. Apply scientific principles and problem-solving skills to support troubleshooting efforts.
- Technical Developments Recommendation: Research and recommend technical improvements to enhance systems, tools, or infrastructure. Suggest innovations that better meet user and project needs.
- Engineering Drawings: Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of environmental and technical solutions.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Compile, analyze, and evaluate environmental and technical data using established tools and methods. Prepare and manage project-related datasets, including biophysical and chemical data.
- Project Management: Assist project managers with coordination of field activities, subcontractor engagement, and analytical setup. Coordinate internal and external resources throughout the project lifecycle. Support contract administration, cost control, and proposal development.
- Testing: Design and implement test procedures and standards based on project specifications and environmental requirements.
- Research: Conduct research to support environmental assessments, permitting, and remediation strategies. Stay informed on provincial and federal regulations relevant to environmental work.
- Personal Capability Building: Participate in training, coaching, and development planning activities. Maintain awareness of relevant technologies, regulations, and industry best practices through ongoing education.
- Client & Customer Management (External): Support senior colleagues in managing client relationships and communications. Contribute to client systems and ensure alignment with project goals and expectations.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering or similar.
- EIT registered / Engineers Nova Scotia
- 0-2 years of industry experience
- Strong technical writing, data analysis and interpretation skills
- Willing to travel for work and able to conduct fieldwork
- Previous field experience is an asset
- Must hold a valid Driver's license
