
Structural Engineer

- Job Description
- Work with a team of structural engineers for both work management and mentoring
- Work within a multidisciplinary design team as a Project Engineer, reporting to the Project Manager
- Complete site visits to document existing conditions in both greenfield and brownfield projects
- Carry out structural detailed design / analysis (related to General Arrangements, structural steel, concrete, etc.)
- Prepare detailed drawing review and mark-ups for designers/drafters
- Complete budgetary estimates, write proposals, technical reports and studies
- Familiar with structural analysis software (STAAD Pro, S Frame, SAP2000, SAFI
- Review and approve structural fabrication drawings
- Participate in formal engineering review processes
- Complete projects from kick-off through completion of Construction / Commissioning
- Work on industrial (with focus on mining and hydroelectric facilities), commercial, institutional, and government projects
- Profile
- University Degree in Civil Engineering
- Registered or able to register as an Engineer with the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland & Labrador (PEGNL) - an asset
- 5-10 or more years of relevant experience
- Proven experience in the mining industry an asset
- Capacity to interact within a multidisciplinary environment
- Client-focused, keen to understand their problems and recommend solutions
- Must be willing to travel to remote work sites. Travel to the Labrador City, NL office will be a requirement for this position
