
Marine Noise and Vibrations Engineer

- Collaborate on cutting-edge research projects to advance marine noise and vibration analysis.
- Develop and implement methods for measuring and certifying vessels for underwater radiated noise (URN), airborne noise, and shipboard noise - including during icebreaking operations.
- Design and execute experiments, both in laboratory settings and at full scale.
- Contribute to the development of vibration load levels for icebreaker design and draft industry-leading guidance.
- Occasionally support ABS offices worldwide on similar projects.
- Bachelor's degree engineering (Mechanical, Naval Architectural, etc.) with experience in structural acoustic analysis.
- Eligibility for P.Eng or EIT with the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador
- Experience with acoustics, URN, structural-borne noise, and/or airborne noise.
- Programming Languages: Familiarity with any language; preference for MATLAB.
- Tools: Experience with ANSYS and/or LS-DYNA
- Proven expertise in marine vibration analysis, with preference for ice-ship and/or ice-propeller-induced vibrations.
- Familiarity with marine industry operations.
- Basic knowledge of life in icy and cold environments (e.g., 3+ winters in Canada or similar locations).
- Master's degree or higher in marine structural vibrations including structural acoustic analysis.
