POSITION VACANCY: Grand River Regional Cancer Centre I/P Oncology Program POSTING NUMBER: 260440 DATE POSTED: March 19, 2026 POSITION: Part Time HOURS OF WORK: 11.25 HR SHIFT DAYS AND NIGHTS JOB SUMMARY: The oncology nurse will be involved in all aspects of the inpatient oncology program, including patient/family assessment, supportive and palliative care. As a member of the interdisciplinary team the oncology nurse will participate in the development and implementation of patient treatment plans; quality improvement processes and will support education and research initiatives. Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: • Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario • Oncology foundations, and psychosocial oncology courses from the deSouza Institute preferred or willing to obtain within 1 year • Minimum 1 year oncology nursing experience preferred • Experience with administration and management of blood products, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, CVAD care and management • Demonstrated experience in working within a multi-disciplinary team • Working with a variety of computer systems and software applications • Participation in education and clinical training programs • Good attendance record • Principles of oncology and palliative care nursing and adult learning: • Therapeutic communication techniques • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills as well as the ability to work independently • Knowledge in patient-focused care and the needs of the oncology patient population Application Instructions: APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL 10:00 A.M.
