- Complete assignments for our internal and external adjusters and file handlers, and work with our building appraisers.
- Meet with policyholders and other stake holders to fully understand the circumstances surrounding their claim.
- Document the scene, and express and support your opinion as to the best way to repair and reconstruct. In addition to recording your opinion in writing, you will also be called upon to contribute your technical expertise to help resolve disputes during claims.
- Conduct any other related tasks.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the province of British Columbia (BC).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in structural engineering design with a particular emphasis on residential buildings and rehabilitation of existing structures.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and residential / small commercial construction practices.
- Forensic engineering analysis and causation experience is an asset.
- In addition to the technical knowledge and physical skills required for the position, you will need to demonstrate good oral and written communication skills to explain the cause and origin of losses.
- You will be required to provide short but detailed reports or detailed ones for more significant losses.
